People suffer in pain and mental anguish when dealing with the loss of a pet, the same way they would over a loved family member or loved person close to them. My boyfriend was fired using a sick day over the tragic loss of our pet of over 8 years. Our pets are considered immediate family. I feel it should be considered the same as a loss of a family member.
