Baroness Butler-Sloss is the wrong person for this  important role. 

She is too close to the establishment, particularly as her brother Sir Michael was Attorney General at the time of the alleged paedophile scandal. 

He was also involved in the convictions of the Guildford Four and The Maguire Seven, and was criticised for being part of the suppression of evidence in order to help the establishment - the very thing this inquiry is about. She is not her brother - but of all the people that could be chosen, this does not inspire faith.

She is 80. This is simply too old for the job, which could take ten years or more.

Her appointment is already attracting criticism and undermining public faith that this important inquiry is going to be handled in the interests of the public and abuse survivors.

We believe it is a totally inappropriate choice, and  and a more suitable person must be put in charge that will inspire confidence - not confidence that this inquiry will be a whitewash.
