Yesterday, Iran announced it test-fired an upgraded surface-to-surface missile with a range of about 1,200 miles, far enough to strike Israel, parts of Europe and U.S. bases in the Middle East.




This news adds further urgency to initiatives now underway to address Iran's increased efforts to enrich uranium, a key step toward building a nuclear bomb.




You can help AIPAC as we work with Congress to garner support for vital new legislation to prevent Iran's nuclear progress. Please take these two steps today:



Contact your members of Congress.   Help us urge all members of the House and Senate to cosponsor the Iran Refined Petroleum Sanctions Act (IRPSA). This legislation aims to increase economic pressure on Iran to abandon its illicit nuclear pursuit.

Iran's domestic needs require it to import 40% of its gasoline today. That is why IRPSA, which authorizes sanctions against any entity that provides Iran with refined petroleum, can be an effective economic tool to persuade Iran to change its behavior.
