Help Save Mr. Joshua S. Day’s Job and the Agriculture Department!

The Issue

Since Mr. Day has been at the Colo-Nesco Schools everything has been improved in the Agricultural Education program. Numbers have slowly increased for classes and FFA numbers have increased as well. The school board though doesn’t seem to support the FFA program and wants to cut his job to part time. Members are worried they might cut the whole program all-together. It is very import that Mr. Day stays full time to keep the FFA chapter at Colo-Nesco.

Before Mr. Day arrived at the Colo-Nesco Schools the Ag. Ed program and FFA wasn't recognized by the community because no one knew we had one. Since his arrival he has revived the FFA program and community members know us again. They are donating items like tractors and farm machinery for us to sell or restore for learning. Community members are also willing to assist the chapter in any way we need now as well. Numbers were down for the Ag. Ed. program, but with new classes put into the curriculum the numbers are slowly starting to rise again. If Mr. Day stays the program will get stronger, but it just needs time. He is also a big asset by giving back to the community being a Volunteer Fire Fighter and being a First Responder.

If Mr. Day gets to keep his job the way that it is now then the program will be a lot better then what it is now. The chapter is actually recognizable to the community since he got here and member’s activities have tripled as well since his arrival.
