From the ASPCA: "Over the weekend, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) began its latest roundup of more than 1,200 federally protected wild horses on public lands in Nevada. The use of helicopters to run the terrified horses over miles of scorching desert resulted in serious injuries and several horse deaths, which led to temporary suspension of the roundup."

Please sign below to ask President Obama and the Interior Department to halt these inexcusable roundups. Please also consider copying your message to the BLM by visiting: http://www.blm.gov/wo/st/en/National_Page/Contact_Us.html

Please Halt Cruel Horse Roundups

Dear President Obama and Department of Interior,

I wish to register my vigorous opposition to the BLM's wild horse roundups, one of which is currently taking place in Nevada despite intense public criticism. The BLM has established an open comment period on its plans for wild horses that is not over until August. Instead of waiting to hear what the American public has to say, BLM officials have decided to go forward with these cruel and brutal roundups in the blistering heat of summer (several more are scheduled for the coming weeks).

Over the weekend, the BLM began its latest roundup of more than 1,200 federally protected wild horses on public lands in Nevada. The use of helicopters to run terrified horses over miles of scorching desert resulted in serious injuries and several horse deaths, which led to temporary suspension of the roundup.

Please, I urge you to intervene and put a stop to these heartless, irresponsible, and cruel roundups. As a taxpayer, I am deeply opposed to my money being used to torture animals. Please act swiftly in this matter.

Thank you,
