Free Alhagie and Ebou Campaign Background

Alhagi Ceesay and Ebou Jobe were kidnapped from their apartment in Kololi, The Gambia on June 22nd 2013.  Since then there have been various reports about their detention in The Gambia.  The Gambian government has not taken any steps to investigate this kidnapping and has denied illegally detaining them. The family, friends, and colleagues of these two tax-paying and upstanding American citizens are in torment due to credible reports that their lives are in danger.

We hereby ask The US Government to use all necessary means to rescue these two American citizens from their ordeal.

 

Alhagie, like many immigrants, came to the U.S. to pursue the American Dream. After earning his bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington (Seattle), he worked for Chevron Texaco for 11 years as an infrastructure systems analyst. He recently obtained his MBA in 2013. Alhagie is married and has two children. He is a very hardworking, ambitious, respectful, quiet, nice and family-oriented man.

 

Ebou also came to the U.S. to pursue the American Dream. Ebou and Alhagie have been friends since their days at St. Augustine’s High School in Banjul. Ebou graduated from University of Washington and worked at Wal-Mart as an operations manager. Ebou is married and has three children. He is a kind, hardworking, outgoing, ambitious and very family-oriented individual.

 

In early May of this year, Alhagie and Ebou decided to visit their native Gambia. The two entrepreneurs were interested in establishing a new business in The Gambia. Allegedly the ubiquitous NIA began trailing them as they traveled in the sub region of The Gambia. On June 22, Alhagie and Ebou were kidnapped by NIA agents. They have not been heard from since that day. The Gambian authorities have failed to acknowledge the illegal detention of the two.

 

We are also asking the public to join with the family in seeking for your help in pleading with the US Government to use all necessary means to rescue these two American citizens from their ordeal.
