Have a 'No Waste' Day

The Issue

Have you ever tried? I have.  It is not an easy thing to do: throw nothing away, create no waste all day.  (Besides of course, the unavoidable biologic waste).

Going thorough the day without creating some kind of waste may be challenging, but it can make you think about your own ecological footprint.

Start with breakfast: You have two eggs and some toast; you have to consider that you have commited 1/6th of the egg carton to waste and a portion of the bag that the bread came in as well.

Alternative: Eat a bananna (or any organic fruit or veggie) and some sunflower seeds (or any nut) and compost the peel and shells.  If at first you don't suceed, try again, and again and again... the goal of zero waste is less important than the idea of activly monitoring it and finding ways to reduce waste in your own life.
