A new dolphin facility is planned for D’Iberville, Mississippi. Moby Solangi, Director of the Institute of Marine Mammal Studies (IMMS) in Gulfport MS, is working with the City of D’Iberville and the United States Government to have the facility built. The City of D’Iberville has purchased the land and will be paying for the water lines that will run from the facility to the Gulf for the purpose of pumping in saltwater. The federal government has awarded Solangi a $10 million dollar grant and there is a request in by Senator Thad Cochran for an additional $15 million in funds. 
  While the facility may be envisioned as a source of income by state and local officials, in time it will only become a death trap for the marine mammals unfortunate enough to be housed there.  The facility will only bring disgrace to the state of Mississippi.  PLEASE halt the plans today!
