Mr. Amar Bahdur Bam of Nepal was trapped in a murder case of Sharad Shetty in Dubai. He was driving for his employer and they were involved in the murder. Mr. Bam was unable to explain his innocence because of the language barrier. He got a verdict of death penalty along with other three who were actually involved in the murder. The written statement of Manoj Mundano Kukyan (and other murderer) is strong evidence of Mr. Bam’s innocence. He has been in Al Abira Central Jail of Dubai for the crime he has not committed waiting for death. We need to save this innocent man.

This petition is to draw your kind attention to free Amar Bahadur Bam, an innocent Nepalese citizen. Mr. Amar Bahadur Bam of case no. 690/2003 has been in Al Abira central jail in Dubai, UAE, for for at least 10 years in connection with the murder of Sharad Shetty, who is of Indian origin.
After careful study and consideration, anyone can come to the conclusion that Mr. Bam was not able to convey his innocence due to a language barrier. Please hear this sad story of a Nepalese citizen who unfortunately has been in a Dubai jail since 2003. Mr. Amar Baahdur Bam, a resident of Dhari VDC in Darchula District in the Far Western Development Region of Nepal, came to India seeking employment, leaving his newlywed bride, Dhanamati (Dhanisha) Bam, in Nepal. In India, he worked as a driver’s helper and later as a driver. He was taken to Dubai, having been offered better pay. He went with the great dream of earning good money to support his family, which is in poor economic circumstances. Unfortunately, his employer was involved in the murder of Sharad Shetty, and Mr. Bam was arrested as a driver. He was tried and sentenced to the death penalty along with the real murderers, Manoj Mundano Kukyan and Karna Singh Rajput, who are of Indian origin. The real culprits have clearly stated that Mr. Bam is innocent.
Although we have great respect for the traditions, constitution, and laws of your great land and understand the legal complications of these types of cases, we are confident that your attention will acquit this poor man, who has already spent a significant portion of his young life in jail waiting for death for a crime (we strongly believe) he did not commit. Therefore, we humbly request His Highness President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Ruler of Dubai, all other H.H. Emirs of UAE, judges, and everyone who is involved with this case to acquit this man and send him back to his family in the name of humanity and almighty God.
