Iranian refugees who fled Iran to find a safe haven are struggling to obtain asylum in Greece.  Having no paperwork and no jobs, they have left our compatriots in a very difficult position. Desperation has led our brothers and sisters to a lengthy hunger strike and some are sewing their lips together in objection to the lack of action by the government of Greece.  However, the government has shown no signs of concern or empathy for the strikers’ health conditions or their safety.  As refugees, they are not by any means being treated according to the terms of the 1951 Geneva Convention.

We believe after all of the sufferings these compatriots deserve to be granted their asylum. Therefore, we are asking all freedom lovers and human rights advocates and their organizations to join us in our effort.  Please sign this petition and encourage all of your family and friends to do the same.
