It generally takes more than a few days to find a rescue, foster, adoptive family for shelter animals, especially dogs or cats with babies who need to be weaned before they can be put up for adoption. Grace and her puppies, (who looked to be no older than a couple weeks old) never had a chance, when only given three days to live. Grace looked to be a pure bred Catahoula Leopard Dog, who, with a chance at exposure, could have found a home for herself and her puppies. Please tell the State and Abilene City Officials how you feel about this senseless murder of a beautiful dog with puppies and that you demand they change the holding period to at least 10 days for dogs with puppies.
