Governor Malloy: Do Not Replace State Victim Advocate Michelle Cruz
Governor Malloy: Do Not Replace State Victim Advocate Michelle Cruz
The Issue
In the past few years since Michelle Cruz has been the State appointed Victim Advocate, she has touched many lives and helped countless victims. She is our voice when the system fails us or when our voices have been rendered silent. She has the experience this office needs and we, the victims of countless crimes, choose experience over starting new with an identified entity who we have had no contact with before. This position requires trust in those she serves, therefore, knowing the Ms. Cruz has fulfilled the "job description" to the satisfaction of her clients, her job must not be put in jeopardy. The victim advocate should be an outspoken voice for the victims of crime and should not risk their job for doing just that.
We the victims of violent crime and those who support us request that Michelle Cruz be reappointed as the State Victims Advocate in a timely fashion.
