Governor Herbert Fires Utah Tribal Leader No Reason, No Notice: Demand APOLOGY
The Issue
In the Salt Lake Tribune issue of d Mar 24 2011, Robert Gehrke reported that The Office of Indian Affairs Director, Forrect Cuch, in Utah was fired in February without notice, without a reason. At a news conference on Thursday, for the first time Governor Hertbet explained the firing of the tribal leader.
Tribal leaders say that the expulstion of Cuch“demonstrates a manifest disregard and disrespect for the inherent sovereign authority of Native America Tribes”: Herbert says Cuch was for being “insubordinate” and failed to rise to standards.
“There is no need to apologize,” Herbert told KUED news.
Tell Governor Hertbet that an apology is required for inhumane treatment of the Utah Native American Tribal Leader.
