Stop Clearcutting California Sierra Nevada Forests

My name is Ci Yin Oliveira and I live in Montgomery Creek California.  The Emmerson family and their timber company, Sierra Pacific Industries, is California's largest landowner. They are deforesting their 2 million acre land holdings in the bio-diverse Sierra Nevada and replanting tree farms of primarily one species of tree.  I'm just a child 11 years old, but even a child can see this is wrong. A  clear cut is not a forest. Please watch me speak to the Board of Forestry.

I am really scared that the forest and all life in their clearcutting is destroyed. Sierra Pacific Industries sprays close to one million pounds of deadly herbicides which destroy life and contaminates air and water, which poisons the rivers and even oceans. SPI practices are damaging to wildlife, our streams, fish and drinking water supplies. Clearcutting and tree farms also increases fire danger and global warming.

Governor Brown has ignored the science and the cries from the people of California who want our forests to be bio-diverse, healthy and to be there as GOD intended,  for future generations. Please join me in asking the Governor to replace clearcutting with sustainable logging practices.
