Give Congress an ultimatum: vote for cutting defense or be voted out of office

The Issue

Polls show that 81% of the American people support cutting defense spending.  This is a sacred cow in both parties in both houses of Congress, and they have refused to bring this to a vote because they are getting their funding from defense contractors.  Please tell Congress that this is unacceptable, and that we the people oppose you the Congress on this issue, and want the money spent on defense to be used for job creation.  We will vote you out of office, at the primary stage if necessary, if you do not vote the way that your constituents want you to.

Scott HutchinsPetition StarterScott has a B.A. in English and communication studies and an M.A. in cinema and media studies. He is partially disabled and can work only in a desk job due to leg and spine problems. He was unemployed since a seasonal layoff in February 2009 that was followed by cutbacks. After an eviction scare in 2011, he was hired by one of his grad school colleagues and is on probation for a new job as of February 2012, which required him to move to Jacksonville.
