CATCH THE CRIMINALS WHO BASHED AND LEFT THIS PUPPY TO DIE IN BIN

The issue

THE RSPCA (SA) is appealing to a truck driver who may have information on the miracle puppy found in a dumpster behind a Port Wakefield service station last Friday.
RSPCA (SA) Chief Inspector Simon Richards said they believe a truck driver who eats breakfast daily at the Caltex service station may have seen something and have appealed to him to come forward.

"He's not considered to be a suspect but we do want to chase that person up to see if he can recall anything from last Friday," he said.

The RSPCA are looking into several classified advertisement from the past months and said their investigation was ongoing.

"We're working very hard to encourage people to call us... this is not something we're going to let rest," Mr Richards said.

"This is just a deplorable act... and the person who did this needs to be held to account for what they've done."

The lucky labrador cross pup was found with two other dead puppies in a sealed bag in a dumpster at the Caltex Service Station on Port Wakefield Rd last Friday.

Post mortem results reveal both puppies had fractured skulls and likely died from a blow to the head.

Veterinarian Kym Sutherland said the puppy was suffering from depression and had to be placed on a drip, but has grown from 1.6kg to 2.4kg.

"He's very fortunate," he said.
