Discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation is unfair, outdated, and an overwhelming breach of privacy. As a society, we should be striving to evolve beyond such practices, and to discriminate by orientation is tantamount to discrimination on the basis of race or religion. Regardless of whether the school is public or private, every capable student has a right to the education he or she has worked hard for.
