Sherif Farag is a Teaching assistant at The Architecture Department, Faculty of Fine Arts, Alexandria University.

He was arrested on 24/11/2013 at 02h30 from his Home - by a force made up of about 25 armed soldiers.

The first day 24/11/2013 at 17h00 began the first investigation with him, with the charges "Joining a banned group (MBs)" and attended with him the lawyers.

He was then brought back to his cell.

They began another investigation at 22h00 adding new charges "Promotion by saying and writing to create chaos and mobilize crowds", "Use of violence" the lawyers didn't attend to prove the invalidity of the procedures.

The second day 25/11/2013 the third investigation at 18h00 adding new charges "killing of peaceful demonstrators", "bank robbery", "cracking cars" and other charges and this is; Case No. 20091 Bab Sharq and 19303 Sidi Gaber (open since 4 months and he has been added to it) also the lawyers didn't attend to prove the invalidity of the procedures.



On 27/11/2013 third day in custody, the issuance of the prosecutor's decision to imprisonment for 15 days under pending investigations!

On 28/11/2013 he was sent to El-Hadara prison in Alexandria to spend the 15 days under pending investigations!

 

Sherif Farag is innocent; there is no sufficient evidence or witnesses to prove any of these charges.

This petition seeks to put pressure on the Alexandria University to demand the Egyptian authorities release their teaching assistant, Sherif Farag.
