Free Obaidi; Demand she be allowed to tell her story.

The Issue

On March 26th a Libyan woman was dragged from a press conference after declaring she had been raped and beaten by Col. Qaddafi's forces. The video is gut-wrenching to see, knowing full well what might potentially have happened to this woman following the incident. No one knows where she was taken, but SOMETHING needs to be done to bring her captors to justice.

http://gawker.com/#!5786025/libyan-woman-dragged-from-press-as-she-tries-to-tell-of-her-rape tells us just how quickly our fates can change, and just how few rights some of us have. Watch the video posted on this site and you'll see just how easily this could have escalated into a bloodbath. Had anyone physically tried to stop these men, all Hell would've broken loose. Obaidi had no one there to defend her. No one dared to try.

I wish to see these men stopped, pure and simple. How DARE anyone put their hands on another individual. How DARE one ABUSE their power in such a way.

I'd like to see 50,000 signatures on this by May 15th 2011. I believe in the POWER we hold as individuals. Let's show Libya's government officials we won't be taken likely, we will not be silenced. Obaidi deserves to tell her story.
