Chea Leb Huy was born during the siege of Cambodia, in the late 1970's. Being born during the time of so much bloodshed and the massacre of millions of people, his family lost two children due to famine and malnutrition. His family escaped Cambodia during the early 1980's and were placed in Refugee camps. He was a child when his family was sponsored by loving, caring people here in the United States. Growing up in a rough neighborhood he fell into a lifestyle that he never wanted. He has always been family oriented and wanted nothing but the best for them. He was sentenced to prison and has served his time. While he was incarcerated his father passed away. He was granted permission to attend the funeral by the Judge and Prosecutor of the state, but the prison over-ruled the decision and he was unable to attend to say his final good-byes. He was supposed to be released on August 26, 2010 but Immigration took him into custody. He was not well-informed of any information pertaining his release. The only information given is that he was transferred to Broadview, Illinois and to Juneau, Wisconsin and is a candidate for deportation. Having lived in the United States for over twenty years he knows very little of his place of origin. He is a good man and wants nothing more than to live his life with the people that love and support him. He is a loving son, brother, husband, and friend. So please help reunite him with his loved ones, and support his stay in the United States.

He was transferred to the Boone County Jail located in Burlington, KY on November 4, 2010. He is still being detained under Immigration even after his manditory 90 days, which ended on November 24, 2010. We are currently waiting for information from his Immigration Officer whether he will be able to be released and reunite with all of his loved ones.

Please stop deportation of Chea Leb Huy to Cambodia

Dear Representative

I am writing on behalf of Chea Leb Huy, whom is currently being detained by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement. formerly known as the Immigration and Naturalization Services. He is a person of good moral standards and he has served his full sentence. He deserves to be with his family and friends whom love and care about him deeply. He does not deserve to be deported back to Cambodia, nor does he deserve to be in the custody of Immigration. I am aware that while being detained in Immigration customs that people whom come to the United States illegally have the right to a fair trial, but for the people that actually came here legally and worked and paid taxes do not even get a hearing before they are sentenced to deportation. I believe that it is immoral and inhumane punishment and goes against human rights. I also believe that deportation should be considered a triple sentence due to the cruel and unusual circumstances that follow the whole deportation process. Deportation does not only affect him but also it affects all of his loved ones as well. He has lived in the United States for over twenty years and does not have any knowledge of how to survive in Cambodia. Please reconsider your decision of his removal and allow him to be able to stay in the United States with his loved ones. Thank you for taking time out of your day to review my letter.
