The DEA has cannabis listed as a Schedule 1 drug along side heroin. Meaning it has no medicinal value and is highly addictive. By contrast they say cocaine is a schedule 2 drug meaning the DEA thinks crack cocaine is actually safer and less addictive than cannabis. If they believe this is true the DEA needs to be re-evaluated. There may be serious misuse of power within the DEA. Corruption should at the very least be questioned.

Force the DEA to re-schedule cannabis.

Greetings,

Please force the DEA to re-schedule cannabis from a schedule 1 drug. The American Medical Association has come out and backed the medicinal uses of cannabis and stated further studies are needed. There is significant research that shows cannabis has the ability to slow or stop the growth of tumors. There are also numerous studies on the ability to subdue pain as well as significant research on the ability to help alleviate symptoms of MS. How many studies will it take to prove to the DEA that cannabis is a legitimate medicine.

The DEA would also like you to believe that cannabis is highly addictive. There are several scientific studies that disprove this, (such as the Schaffer report). The DEA has no proof of a high addiction rate. . The DEA would have you believe cannabis is as addictive as cocaine and heroin, you as well as the rest of America know this is simply not true. How much longer will the DEA continue to lie to the American people. Make the DEA stop telling lies to you,the Senate, Congress, and the American citizens.

The main criteria for a schedule 1 drug is that it has no madicinal value and is highly addictive. Cannabis just does not fit this criteria. For this reason we demand the DEA listen to The American Medical Association, The Board of Registered Nurses, and We the American people and re-schedule cannabis now.
