Support HR 2835, The Medical Marijuana Patient Protection Act

Dear Representative

As one of your constituents in Florida I am well aware that the time for change is now.
Currently in Florida our courts have shown compassion for our patients and refused to prosecute patients that use marijuana medically (Jenks vs State), and our citizens have initiated a petition to bring medical marijuana to the state of Florida Constitution.
As an AARP poll shows, nearly three of out every four members of our retired population supports a patients right to discuss marijuana as a medical option. Volunteer activists are working in every single county to change the laws regarding medical marijuana.  Our universities, the foundation of our future, are changing policies regarding marijuana and having student groups dedicated to changing the laws forming on many of our over 100 colleges and universities, including two universities considered in the top 10 for marijuana activism in the nation.
Recent polls from this year have shown a vast majority of support, Orlando Sentinel shows 92.5% support for medical marijuana and Naples News shows 90% support.  You have the support to make this happen from all of your supporters!
Cannabis research overseas is pushing new grounds.  It has even been shown to stop tumor growth in brain, breast, lung, and throat cancers.  The US Dept. of Health and Human Services has even patented marijuana as a nueroprotectant and anti-oxidant (#6630507).  Patients such as IrvinRosenfeld, out of South Florida, currently receive marijuana from the federal government through the Compassionate IND program, yet this program has closed it's doors to new applicants.
As your constituent, I urge you to do the right thing.  Take compassion for the sick in our state and this nation.  Don't make our people choose between their lives and the law.  What if it was one of your loved ones?
Push this bill through rapidly so our nation can have more compassionate laws for our sick and further the research on this plant.
