Every year in Florida, tens of thousands of children are subject to child abuse, which can take the form of physical or sexual abuse, neglect, abandonment or mental injury. Many more continue to suffer because the abuse is never reported. Under Florida law, everyone who suspects a child may be abused or neglected has a legal responsibility to report it.
