Repeal the centrifugal force knife law.

Repeal the centrifugal force knife law.
The Issue
butterfly and flip knives are not illegal because they are any more dangerous, in reality they are actually far less dangerous than any weapons you can already buy in Canada, like machetes, axes, and even kitchen knives, which are JUST as concealable, and MORE dangerous. This law is in place for no visible reason other than the possibility that the knives can intimidate some, and laws should not be based on opinion, but facts, and statistics . The criminal code of Canada states a prohibited weapon as: (a) a knife that has a blade that opens automatically by gravity or centrifugal force or by hand pressure applied to a button, spring or other device in or attached to the handle of the knife, or
(b) any weapon, other than a firearm, that is prescribed to be a prohibited weapon;"
This law does affect OTF knives (knives that open by the push of a button), which open faster and are actually a danger, but flip knives have a long, slow process of blade exposure compared to other knives, that are legal.
