Food and Drug Administration apparently approved a new antibiotic, cefquinome, to treat a pneumonia-like disease in cattle, despite warnings from health groups and a majority of the agency's own expert advisers that the decision was dangerous for people. Cefquinome is one of a powerful class of drugs that are highly effective, but, have led to the rise of microbes resistant to most antibiotics. The American Medical Association and a number of other groups, including the FDA's Advisory Board, have warned the FDA that it should not be used.
Please, FDA change veterinary drug rules, now
Dear Representative
Hi. The FDA should change veterinary drug rules, now. Thanx. Goodbye.
Matutinally Yours,
