That a multi-million dollar corporation such as the NFL feels it must recruit volunteer work to provide for the halftime activities during the Super Bowl in the economic environment that exists today is an insult to hard-working Americans.

For Super Bowl 2012 in Indianapolis, 500 Americans are being solicited as volunteers to be available for orientation, 43 hours of rehearsal work, and game-day activities with no wage compensation given, no injury liability protection afforded them, nor any opportunity granted them to watch any part of the game live in the stadium or be given access to tickets. If the NFL can gross over $9 billion dollars in one year, there is no plausible reason for it to not be able to afford to help the communities that make their national events possible through wage compensation and liability protection for all of its workers.

It is unbecoming of volunteered American labor to be utilized for the sole purpose of further lining executives' pockets.  Petition goal of 63,000 signatures set to match the capacity of Lucas Oil Stadium.
