Why This Is Important

Currently Medicaid has limited services for Dental Care for adults. Leaving thousands of low-income adults with tooth decay, Gum Disease, and other health problems in the mouth.

In most states Medicaid will not cover cleanings, fillings, oral surgery, and many other services in which adults NEED. And only one or two offices that will accept Medicaid for the few procedures they do cover.

Adults with low-income don't have the extra money to be able to see a dentist. They are left in pain while their teeth decay with nothing they can do about it!

Medicaid will only cover extractions if you replace it with dentures. Think about it young adults with dentures! A 21 year old girl having to get dentures in order to stop cavities from hurting her day in and day out. A 25 year old man that has broken teeth due to lack of dental services. People with Impacted wisdom teeth that wont grow all the way through and can't afford to have them removed, so they suffer every day.

All of us, young, old, rich, and poor need to step up together and demand Medicaid to cover routine dental services for adults. Not to take their teeth and replace with dentures! But to PREVENT tooth decay by annual cleanings, fillings, and other needed services!

Everyone knows someone with low-income. It's your mom, dad, sister, brother, cousin, aunt, aunt, friend, pastor, lover, or yourself. Stand up and fight for whats right! Take action now by signing this petition!

Lets get our teeth healthy and keep our teeth healthy! Even the poor and low-income deserve healthy teeth!

Expand Medicaid Dental Coverage for Adults

Dear Representative

I am writing to ask you in expand medicaid dental coverage for adults.

For adults 21 and older, States may elect to provide dental services to their adult Medicaid-eligible population or elect not to provide dental services at all as part of its Medicaid program. While some states provide at least emergency dental services for adults, less than half of the states provide comprehensive dental care.

The only way to have healthy teeth is to get professional cleanings and annual check ups!

People without health insurance have bad teeth because, if you’re paying for everything out of your own pocket, going to the dentist for a checkup seems like a luxury. It isn’t, of course. The loss of teeth makes eating fresh fruits and vegetables difficult, and a diet heavy in soft, processed foods exacerbates more serious health problems, like diabetes. The pain of tooth decay leads many people to use alcohol as a salve. And those struggling to get ahead in the job market quickly find that the unsightliness of bad teeth, and the self-consciousness that results, can become a major barrier.

Please have Medicaid expand it's dental coverage for adults before we all have to start using pliers for teeth removal!
