Salameh Kaileh's detention, in violation of both Syrian and international law, points out the acute insecurity of the Syrian regime which cannot even tolerate the truth spoken by an intellectual.

Salameh Kaileh was kidnapped from his house by Syrian security forces soon after midnight on April 24, 2012. He is an Arab, Marxist intellectual, who had previously spent eight years in Syrian prisons.
