The Issue

Sexism inside advertising is not supported by the masses. The advertising media continue to perpetuate an offensive image of women. Not only showing sexually implicit images, many advertisements objectify women and promote gender roles that consist of partriarchal tendencies. Objectification of women can occur through the focused image of a woman's specific body part and the integration of a woman's body with an inanimate object, along with with other methods of objectification.

This petition calls on an ethics reform to end these highly offensive and sexist advertisements. Consumers must be treated with a basic level of respect that allows for the empowerment of women. It is time for these unwanted advertisements to end.
