The US and Iraq have been in war for 20 years. It started with the 1991 bombing, followed by 13 years of economic sanctions and air-strikes, and now 8 years of military occupation.

The US-Iraqi security agreement, signed in 2008, requires that all the US troops to leave Iraq by December 31st 2011. It also requires that all US military bases are shut down or handed over to the Iraqi government by the same deadline.

In addition, President Obama has repeatedly promised us to withdraw all the troops by the end of this year.

We, the undersigned, demand that the US governments abide by the binding deadline stated in the agreement. We want to end this military occupation before the end of this year!
