As you must be awae of, the Founding Fathers worked to create a Constitution that would both ensure a truly democratic process and make changing the Constitution difficult by specifying a two-thirds majority vote.  The Senate rule that requires a 60/40 majority to end a filibuster has often been useful to the minority despite being contrary to the intent of the Constitution.  Nevertheless, the unseemly and clumsy health care debate has revealed the danger to orderly government of allowing a minority, or even one individual, to demand changes to what a clear majority agrees upon.  The Senate must abolish the filibuster rule entirely.  Allow simple majority votes to pass important legislation, as in the House, now.
