Why This Is Important

Every day thousands of Parolee’s are denied a Parole transfer to another state where their recovery is best served. Many of these Parolee’s are homeless and could avoid that by being permitted to transfer to another state. By allowing these Parolee’s to remain homeless they often resort to crime to survive. It’s also very difficult for a Parolee to obtain employment more so when homeless. If these Parolee’s were capable of relocating to a state where they had a home they would have a better chance at recovery which in turn solves the issue of homelessness in Parolee’s, re-offending, and preventing other issues that develop with being homeless on Parole.

If a Parolee is homeless in the state they are Paroled in but has a home and support in another state then the Parolee should be allowed to transfer their Parole to the state that he/she has a home in.

No state nor the interstate compact should be allowed to deny a Parole transfer when the Parolee clearly has a home and support in another state.

I am asking America to acknowledge the problem in having homeless Parolee’s and to ask our country to put an end to it by enforcing a law that allows homeless Parolee’s to Parole to another state when they have a stable home, environment, and support system in the receiving state. The sending state, receiving state nor interstate compact should be permitted to deny a transfer under these circumstances.

Thank you for your time. I look forward to your support in this matter.
