End Amazon.com's Sweatshop Warehouse

End Amazon.com's Sweatshop Warehouse

The Issue

Amazon.com's warehouse in Breinigsville, PA packs and ships the goods you buy online. It is an important part of the business because it is within one day's drive of a third of the population of the US and Canada. But the facility has become, quite literally, a sweatshop.

That's because Amazon.com has refused to turn on the AC in the facility. Over the summer, temperatures in the plant reached over 110 degrees. One worker said it was like "working in a convection oven while blow-drying your hair." Others describe coworkers passing out and feeling light headed. Add the absurdly high demands Amazon is putting on these workers, and you've got a real recipe for disaster.

What is worse is that Amazon knew how dangerous things were getting. Instead of cooling down the plant, they had an ambulance park outside.

This is simply unacceptable. Tell Amazon.com CEO Jeff Bezos to end these sweatshop conditions immediately!
