End abuse and torture, asap

End abuse and torture, asap
The Issue
The US, and all of America should stand for human rights. In fact, the US government is required by law to end human rights violations and ensure accountability for them. Nevertheless, President Obama and some of members of Congress have resisted full accountability for torture, and they have endorsed indefinite detention and unfair military commissions. US detentions at Bagram and other facilities in Afghanistan and Iraq do not meet human rights standards, and legal loopholes still allow the abuse and torture of prisoners. Human rights violations are immoral, illegal and, according to military and intelligence experts, ineffective, as well as counterproductive. As a nation we should follow the law, respect human rights, and counter terror with justice; universally, asap.
