Encourage President Obama to do more towards Clean Energy

Le problème

Over 35,000 people thanked the Environmental Protection Agency for taking the first step towards our Big Picture goal, stopping global warming, by declaring that global warming pollution threatens our health and welfare. Tomorrow we will celebrate our first victory when President Obama announces a new national plan for clean cars.

Please thank President Obama and his administration today for taking this historic action to end our addiction to oil and fight global warming by creating national clean car standards.

On Tuesday President Obama will announce a huge piece of his Big Picture plan to fight climate change, the first national automobile standards for global warming emissions, which will dramatically reduce global warming pollution from our vehicles, slash our dependence on oil and make us more energy independent.

In 2007 the Bush administration unlawfully denied a Clean Air Act waiver for California's proposed Clean Cars Standards.  Tomorrow's announcement will not only reverse that decision, it will use the California proposal as the basis for the new national standard that cuts global warming emissions approximately 30 percent by 2016 and significantly increases fuel economy.

President Obama doesn't just talk about his Big Picture vision of a clean energy economy, he is actively building it.  The national standard will give new life to the American auto industry and ensure that the next generation of clean, efficient autos can be made right here in the U.S.A.

Send a thank you message to President Obama and his administration for national clean car standards today.

Strong support for the standard will ensure that the auto industry stops litigating and instead focuses its energy on putting technology to work to give consumers the cars that will save money at the pump while helping curb global warming pollution and cutting our addiction to oil. President Obama promised strong standards and we are getting them.
