These "PENTA" Poles on Long island are known to cause various health issues. This petition is to stop the use of chemical poles and either bury the lines or use non chemical utility poles to ensure the health of citizens.  

Eliminate Pentachlorophenol EPA Hazardous Waste FO27 Utility Poles

Bury Poles or use Non Cancer Causing alternative material poles

Use environmentally friendly solution. 

 

 

The Current Utiltiy Poles are made with:

Pentachlorophenol is: EPA Hazardous Waste: U242; " FO27"

Using heat and pressure in an autoclave, PCP is produced by mixing chemicals (phenols, chlorine).

The pole is then dipped in copper naphthenate, F9-HTS Biodiesel blended fuels.

chlorine = Chlorine gas represents a hazardous material threat from industrial accidents and as a terrorist weapon.  Once used as a chemical weapon in the World War I, chlorine gas has long been known for its pulmonary irritant properties.

There has-been much human psychological stress from lack of communication and acceptance from the tax paying property owners and residents in each community impacted across Long Island.

GOALS OF PETITION

1) Collect petition signatures and electronic related issues on PENTA POLE installs going on across Long Island New York. 

2) Present issues, concerns and signatures to the Governor, LIPA, PSEG, CDC, New York State Public Service Commision, EPA, Local Government Elected Officials Town across Long Island.  

3) Ensure That All neighborhoods Remain A desirable place to buy real estate, shop and Promote business and tourism and raise and educate Their children.  

4) Attempt to find alternatives (ie bury the transmission lines, alternative routes, non chemical poles) to the current plan of installing chemical, unsightly, dangerous utiltiy poles in a residential neighborhood.

5) Ensure ground water remains safe.
