EDUCATION NEEDS ATTENTION IN PA GOVERNOR CORBETT

The Issue

There has been a decrease in funding for education and an increase in other areas for funding (ie: prisons, etc...). Schools across PA have been losing this funding for various reasons, one is noted above, another is AYP and the PSSA. IF your school doesn't make the grade, your district does not get as much money as a school that does make the grade or test score that is high. We, as PA RESIDENTS, need to come together and let the governor know that:

Dear Governor Corbett,

Can we please giving us the free public school, proper and appropriate educational funding we need for our children to succeed in today's global economy. Our children need to be able to compete globally and please help them by allocating funds for education and increasing those funds for all PA school districts statewide. We need future leaders of tomorrow and it starts with us asking you to increase this funding. In addition, we are asking you to research other testing methods to assess our children rather than the PSSA'S. This way they can "learn" rather than memorize for the test. The children will become more interested in school and you won't need to give each school district money by a test score. Monies can be allocated equally so each school succeeds. This model can become a model for other states to follow as well. In essence, each student can be assessed at their own rate and pace in one of your testing methods and in this way...the entire school can succeed. The PSSA'S are not universal FOR ALL CHILDREN. Let's make the students' fit the test, rather than the test fit the children. Please increase this funding. Parents would be grateful.

Thank you for your time,

ALL PA CONSTITUENTS & RESIDENTS
