By releasing the SDK to the community; it will ensure BF3 lives a long and plentiful life of continued revitalisation and customisation within the gaming community. Users will continue to release new mods and maps for the game which will encourage people continue to play it.

Unfortunately; failure to release the SDK will result in many players becoming tired of the same old maps; in turn moving onto the next new FPS shooter to come out.

Without modifications - many of the worlds top games would not exist today (e.g Desert Combat, Enemy Territory, Counter Strike, Natural Selection, Day of Defeat, etc). So potentially; you are preventing the creation of the worlds next top game!
