Methadone, despite it's stigma and myths, is the drug treatment with the highest success rate-by far. It's been used and studied for 40 years.  It's also the cheapest treatment available-costs are less than one dollar per day.  Clinics now have up to 2-year waiting lists for those who want help now.  Most cost $100 a week minimum for treatment. Let's enable doctor's to prescribe methadone from their offices-it would reduce drug-related crimes, hiv Hepatitus-C , AIDS, and decrease our prison populations.  We parole child molesters, murderers and rapists early to make prison cells available for drug USERS!  Lets make treatment available to all who need it.
