For the past year, California ferret lovers have spoken to the Fish and Game Commission.  We’re trying to present an Environmental Impact Report – a document necessary for beginning the process to legalize ferret ownership in CA.

The Commission wouldn’t even acknowledge it at first.  Then they told us they would not review the document (the one THEY asked us for) until they officially “went to notice” regarding the change.

But they won’t “go to notice” – until they review the document.

Government Catch-22.  And a blatant show of disrespect.

Not only are they giving us conflicting directions, we (responsible California ferret owners) have been treated rudely by the Commissioners at every public meeting.

Most notably, by Commission President Jim Kellogg.

California citizens working for a legitimate and helpful change in their own government do not deserve to be treated that way.  Commissioners are not overlords.  Their disregard only breeds contempt among their own constituents.

With this petition, we request that Governor Brown “stand with the little guy” and show the Fish & Game Commissioners that they are accountable.

Governor Brown, please do not confirm Jim Kellogg for another term on the California Fish and Game Commission.

Do not reappoint Fish and Game Commission President to another term

Greetings,

I just signed the following petition addressed to: Governor Jerry Brown.

----------------
Do not reappoint Fish and Game Commission President to another term

California ferret lovers have been in front of the Fish and Game Commission for the past year trying to present a preliminary Environmental Impact Report previously required for ferret legalization. The Commission refused to accept it but finally acknowledged it. Then they told us they would not review the document they required until they officially went to notice regarding the change. But they will not go to notice until they review the document. This is a horrible example of government Catch-22.

In addition to giving out conflicting directions California ferret owners have been treated rudely and disrespectfully by the Commissioners, most notably President Kellogg.

This kind of treatments breeds contempt and disrespect by the citizens of California and we request that Governor Brown stand with the little guy and not allow us to be treated that way.

Please do not confirm Jim Kellogg for another term on the Fish and Game Commission.

Sincerely,
