Do not attempt to reduce sales of Duke Nukem Forever.

Do not attempt to reduce sales of Duke Nukem Forever.
The Issue
Recently, a decent amount of furor has been caused over a mode in Duke Nukem Forever known as "Capture the Babe". In this interesting version of "capture the flag" the player is tasked with kidnapping a woman from his enemy's base, throwing her over his shoulder, and carrying her back to his base to share the spoils. If she starts to "freak out," the player is encouraged to slap her on the butt until she shuts up.
This is not reprehensible.
It is amusing and fun.
The game carries the highest possible age rating; people playing the game are beyond the point of being seriously influenced by things that are obviously jokes, parodies or satires. If a child is playing this game, it is likely the result of bad parenting.
Is it making light of a serious issue? Perhaps. But then, don't all videogames? What of Call of Duty, in which you kill thousands upon thousands of people without a care in the world? At least in Duke Nukem Forever, you are killing aliens and not other human beings. Additionally, Call of Duty is presented in an entirely serious tone, where as Duke Nukem is never serious.
Is this any different from a comedic film with a misogynistic lead character?
The character of Duke Nukem is, for all intents and purposes, a complete joke. He is a pastiche of manly, misogynistic tropes; he has balls of steel and will rip off an enemies head and defecate down their neck.
This is not a game to be taken seriously. Nor is it a game that would ever conceivably be taken seriously by a mentally healthy individual of the correct age.
While it is a woman's right to not be objectified, assaulted, harassed, or any of the like, this is a videogame aimed towards a mature audience who are not easily influenced.
Please, do not allow sales of this game to be harmed because of a few people who take things a bit too seriously.
