On May 20th, 2014 Duanying Chen, a Chinese citizen here on a student visa, was arrested for domestic battery and animal cruelty. The 19 year old man  reportedly strangled his girlfriend and seriously beat a 5-month-old miniature pinscher puppy and severely abused him. Baby Pup Doe had suffered broken bones, was tortured, molested, burned, beaten and had wounds on its rectum and genitals. He had multiple life threatening injuries, so horrific that his quality of life was so diminished that he was humanely euthanized. Please speak up for justice, and write to the DA and Mayor's office urging the maximum penance.

Chen's criminal case is in hands of Santa Barbara District Attorney's office. I am hopeful that the Santa Barbara County District attorney and Mayor's office will be the voice for the animals in this county and most importantly for Baby Pup Doe and send this message that animal cruelty will not be tolerated. 

We implore you to seek the maximum sentence imposed for the animal cruelty against Duanying Chen.
