J.J. Abrams is a fine director who currently helms the re-boot of the "Star Trek" franchise for Paramount. To have J.J. Abrams also direct the new "Star Wars" film will automatically put the new "Star Wars" at a disadvantage as it will instantly be compared to his "Star Trek" films.

"Star Wars" requires a director that can transport us to another time long ago in a distant galaxy, far, far, away. The strong visual style of J.J. Abrams (lens flares, camera shake, etc.) will be too reminiscent of his "Star Trek" productions and puts the unique look of "Star Wars" at serious risk.

Please don't let this happen.

There are many excellent directors who can make the new "Star Wars" a tremendous blockbuster may we suggest:

Kathryn Bigelow (Zero Dark Thirty)
Tom Hooper (Le Miz, King's Speech)
