By having to buy packages we are in effect paying for all the channels we don't want even those we find objectionable in content. Biography use to have a mix of biographies of people who made important contributions to society along with biographies of mobsters and questionable characters. Now it's a steady stream of serial killers, child killers, biker gangs, mobsters, and now Kid Killers. It's not enough to change the channel or turn the tv off because every time you pay these companies you support shows like The Borgias, Sparticus, the Kardashians, Desperate Housewives, Prison Shows, etc. that glamorize bullying and mean spirited behavior, etc. Let the people who want to support these shows buy those channels. Why should those of us who are more discriminating about what our families watch support something that we feel is inferior television and promotes bad behaviour. Why try to encourage anti-bullying programs in schools when we are promoting bullying every day on tv. Look at the way the housewives treat eachother. Susan Smith and Jeffrey Dahmer are icons on the Biography Channel.
And the ads for these violent shows are on all day long on other channels so you are still having these shows jammed down your throat. If you think glamorizing violence is helping this society, think again. We have the power to vote with our money. There's a reason we have to buy packages; these stupid reality shows could not stay on the air without our help. It's the only way for people with absolutely no talent to thrive. We are making millionaries out of people who are doing nothing for us and encouraging our kids to act like they live in a war zone. Stop the insanity and cancel your tv until they let us buy just the channels we want.
