Arizona Humane Society coerced Daniel Dockery to surrendered his cat Scruffy to the Humane Society on Dec. 8 after clinic staff declined to take a credit card from his mother over the phone or wait 24 hours for her to wire him cash.

Scruffy was a 9-month old therapy cat. Scruffy was put down not because of cuts it got from a fence but because the 49-year-old Phoenix man couldn’t immediately pay $400 for its care.

Scruffy was MURDERED immediately. They did not even give his pet parent 24 hours to come up with payment or the opportunity to be adopted by another loving family this holiday season.  Arizona Humane Society should be held accountable for the murder of an innocent life.
