The US Department of War morphed into the Department of Defense, a noble move forward.  It's time to ask that it be re-named the Department of Peace so that the focus turns away from war and toward peace.  If the name were changed it would drive us in a different direction and quite possibly change the world as well as minds.

Write to President Obama, Secretary of State Clinton, Department of Defense Secretary Panetta, Senators, and Representatives to get the ball rolling.  It takes a long time to change attitudes.  Peace is our best option for long term governance.
