I am disgusted by the way the media and fellow politician­s have ganged up on Congressma­n Wiener over what boils down to consensual phone sex. He has NOT committed an assault. He has NOT condemned gay people, then tried to pick up a man in a bathroom. He has NOT used taxpayer money to fly to Argentina for a week to see his mistress. He has NOT fathered a child by the maid. He has NOT killed somebody in a drunk driving accident. All he has done is some foolish exhibition­ism. He's no doubt hurt his new wife's feelings but that's between them. My only disappoint­ment is that he lied about it. But don't most men lie about "it" when they get caught? As a liberal Democrat who lives in the deep South, I need Wiener to stay in Congress to speak for me. Because of his courage in taking on big money interests, we need Wiener to stay in Congress to investigate REAL problems for all of us.
