Please read the petition below from the Solidarity Youth Movement, a Kerala-based youth organisation in protest against all anti-human development concepts, regarding the proposed Nuclear Power Plant in Jaitapur, Ratnagiri of Maharashtra. Also take part in the online petition of the Solidarity Youth Movement, demanding the Prime Minister of India respect the popular agitations against the project, which is to come in a highly earthquake-prone area.

The government must be ready to invest in such environment-friendly power plant projects other than the highly hazardous and costly nuclear power projects. The government should at least have given heed to people’s protests in the wake of Fukushima nuclear power plant catastrophe in Japan.
