As coverage of the recent Bangladesh factory collapse reveals, the manufacture of clothing for the Western markets often includes unsafe working conditions and unfair labor wages. Labeling clothing and footwear as fair trade would provide the consumer with information to support safe and fair trade of the products they purchase.
