For years, the Bloomingdale and LeDroit Park neighborhoods have been prone to flooding. DC Water has known about these issues and failed to take any corrective action. In July 2012, a series of flood events again hit these two neighborhoods, inflicting financial, physical and emotional damage to the neighborhoods and their residents. Geroge Hawkins and his team at DC Water have failed to determine a cause for the floods and more importantly, have failed to come up with any solutions to them. George Hawkins must be fired so a new general manager can come in and fix these issues now.
